Self-Cleaning BOLLFILTER Solutions: Enhancing SUNRUI Ballast Water Treatment Systems
Automatic filters come with a self-cleaning system that regularly clears out built-up debris to prevent blockages. BOLLFILTER’s backwashable strainers allow for continuous operation and are ideal for systems where manual cleaning is inconvenient. These filters are widely used in SUNRUI ballast water treatment systems and can be connected together for added flexibility.

BOLL&KIRCH Automatic backwashing filter for SUNRUI BWMS
For technical systems that utilize or collect large amounts of cooling water in open or closed circuits, as well as service and waste water, efficient operation requires the highest standards of liquid filtration. The water filters used here must
Due to precision,
ensure a defined degree of purity of the liquid to be treated
Due to reliability,
ensure operation of the complete system is not interrupted and disrupted
Due to no maintenance and long service times,
assist in keeping the operating costs low
Self-cleaning backflushing welded strainer
The BOLLFILTER Automatic Type 6.18 is an excellent choice for industrial water filtration. With its unique dual functionality for filtering and backflushing, it sets a high standard in water treatment. Its self-cleaning backflush system and low maintenance make it perfect for systems that run continuously, even in remote areas without on-site staff. Additionally, BOLLFILTER filters are widely used in SUNRUI ballast water systems, further proving their reliability in demanding marine applications.
Advantages of the BOLLFILTER Automatic Type 6.18
The bipolar principle of function, with cylindrical filter candles opening on two sides, has multiple advantages compared to water filters with conical or respiring candles:
- These filters need less frequent replacement compared to conical or vented candles, as the efficient backflushing system consistently prevents clogging. This helps reduce costs for labor and spare parts.
- These filters provide a much more reliable separation of solids than vented candles. This is because, during the switch from backflushing to filtration, there is a risk that dirt particles get trapped in the lamellae of vented candles, which can prevent them from maintaining their original filtration precision.
- Unlike conical and vented candles, these filters can be fitted with longitudinal gap candles. This design achieves superior cleaning performance, especially when dealing with contamination from fibrous materials.
