Sunrui, a company based in Qingdao, and Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding Group held a ceremony commemorating the “Order of 100 Sets of Ballast Water Treatment Equipment” on December 18th, 2023. Fu Hongtian, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Sunrui, and Shinohara, Executive Director of Imabari Shipbuilding Group, attended the event.
Imabari Shipbuilding Group is the largest and most powerful shipbuilding group in Japan, dedicated to the research and construction of various types of ships including oil tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, car carriers, and LNG carriers, making it a typical representative of Japan’s shipbuilding industry. Since signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Sunrui in 2018, the two parties have jointly signed orders for 100 sets of ballast water management systems.
Fu Hongtian expressed gratitude to Imabari Shipbuilding for its support to Sunrui over the years, stating that Imabari Shipbuilding is a very important partner of Sunrui. He hopes that in the future, both parties will continue to cooperate in the development and application of new products and the layout of global services, achieving win-win development. Fu Hongtian elaborated on Sunrui’s development in improving efficient ballast water management systems, shipboard clean energy supply systems, and carbon capture systems, and expounded on Sunrui’s global after-sales service network construction and future development direction, stating that Sunrui will continue to deepen its presence in the Japanese market, constantly improve product performance, and optimize its global service network, striving to bring customers a better experience.
Shinohara agreed with Sunrui’s strategic layout and development direction, highly affirming Sunrui’s achievements in ballast water treatment and alternative energy equipment fields. He stated that Sunrui is a trusted partner, and the quality products and efficient services provided by Sunrui over the years are commendable. With the clear trend of decarbonization in the shipping industry today, he hopes to conduct broader cooperation with the company in these new areas in the future.
During the discussion, both parties reviewed the profound friendship established since the cooperation began, and reached a consensus on promoting innovation and strengthening cooperation. Both parties firmly believe that, based on mutual trust and mutual benefit, continuously strengthening strategic cooperation will make greater contributions to the green and low-carbon development of the global shipping industry.
