BalClor®Smart, the latest offering, underwent rigorous testing, including 15 consecutive land-based bioefficacy trials in seawater, brackish water, and fresh water in November 2022. The system received final approval from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) during the 80th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 80) in July 2023. Subsequently, after a meticulous 189-day, 5-round shipboard bioefficacy trial witnessed by DNV and CCS classification societies, BalClor®Smart fully complies with the IMO D-2 standards.
Distinguishing itself from the traditional BalClor® system, BalClor®Smart eliminates the filtration step, enhancing operational stability and reducing equipment maintenance costs. The optimized ballast treatment process results in a 10% reduction in system volume compared to its predecessor, offering increased flexibility in on-site arrangements to accommodate all vessel types.
Numerous bulk orders for BalClor®Smart have been secured, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2024.
